  1. Imposter Syndrome is a collection of feelings of inadequacy that continue to linger even though one is clearly experiencing success. These individuals suffer from persistent self-doubt and a sense of intellectual fraudulence that overrule any feelings of success or happiness. This is currently happening to me. Sometimes I compare myself to others when I shouldn’t. I have my own apartment, car, a decent paying job(making it on my own in Austin with no ones help), and doing well in this course, yet sometimes I have trouble finding happiness because I am 34 and haven’t really started a career yet. Furthermore I have a lot of debt so I'm trying to get out of that and its been difficult given my current financial situation.
  2. I have learned that there are lots of software/web developer jobs out there in Austin and the surrounding areas. I believe my chances of obtaining a great paying job and future career are in the very near future. Furthermore, I noticed that there is a lot of flexibility when it comes to CSS but not HTML. With the latter, you literally just enter the content and it will read top down when executed. With CSS you can fix one issue many different ways. I also learned that there might be more back end jobs than front end out there. This is good news to me because I love working in JavaScript and node. I like the logic aspect and the fact that it’s more analytical and challenging to get the computer to do what you want.
  3. We have to be positive and love ourselves because were the only ones that have to live with ourselves. I practice this everyday by getting up, eating breakfast and then going for a walk before the day even starts. Music is also a big factor in my life as that always puts me at ease. If we continue to have negative thoughts than that will also affect our physical well being(sleep, appetite, mood, etc). This deals a lot of damage to the body and if it persists you could have a nervous breakdown.
  4. The timeline for assignments is what I’m struggling with the most so that’s why I’ve been practicing time management more. Each day I do at least 2 hours of coding to keep up now. I work during the day and still tutor math at night sometimes. The course is very fast paced. I have a good understanding of JavaScript since I already took a pre-course however I’m still getting used to all the options CSS has to offer.
  5. I don’t listen to many podcasts but when I do it’s usually politics and that does help me focus. I like listening to Mark Maron too. Most of the time I’m listening to music to concentrate. I love listening to blues, rock, jazz, and alt.
  6. I virtually don’t have any free time anymore between work, school, and the occasional tutoring gigs. When I do I unwind by playing the bass or going out with friends.
